WordPress Plugins ~ You Mean There Are More?

It’s true, WordPress plugins are a continuous education!!

My hat is off to ALL of the creative individuals who bring these ‘do-dads’ to life.

Over the past year, I have gradually made over StevenSuchar.com from pretty ‘plain jane’ into ‘hey, not bad’.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to sound self centered here…

I am just SUPER EXCITED over what WordPress plugins have allowed me to do so far!!

As I continue to tweak my Blog, I will surely keep you informed & updated as to what I have found to be useful & functional for me.  This post is truly only the tip of the iceberg my friend.

Here are 4 more of my favorite WordPress plugins that I am utilizing…

Top Commentators Widget by Lorna Timbah – When a reader visits & leaves their comment, I want the World to know about it.  This is a wonderful way to generate FREE traffic for them because their name & gravatar are clickable.  Scroll down my right sidebar & take a quick peek. You can dial this 1 in to your liking. A for sure MUST HAVE in my book.

CommentLuv by Andy Bailey – Your reader’s last Blog article title is ‘hot linked’ at the end of their comment that they have just left on your Blog, this is a sweet backlink builder. The name CommentLuv fits perfectly here & it’s definitely another MUST HAVE.

Twitterlink Comments by Andy Bailey – This 1 is really cool because a reader who leaves a comment can insert their Twitter username before they click submit.  Then it’s ‘hot linked’ back to their Twitter profile. What a great way for a commenter to add some gravy followers, look Mom, NO hands. MUST HAVE.

What Would Seth Godin Do by Richard K Miller – This plugin allows you to display ‘custom messages’ to your 1st time visitors & your repeat readers.  My repeat message is right below the title of this article with the black border. Personally, I think this 1 adds flare using a communication passage within a Blog.

As you have probably noticed, these 4 WordPress plugins are geared towards giving to your Blog readers/commenters who will eventually turn into long term Blogger friends as time goes on.

1 rule of thumb to always keep in mind when it comes to WordPress plugins…

Don’t get carried away with installing TOO MANY of them on your Blog. I know, you feel like you’re gazing into the front window of a candy store where everything looks so tempting.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with window shopping for NEW WordPress plugins every so often. If you find 1 that can maybe replace an existing 1 in order to improve your Blog’s functionality or eye appeal…then absolutely go for it.

You may also run into this scenario in your Blogging experience some day. Certain WordPress plugins initiate a conflict with 1 another. It’s a totally random happening, since different combinations are almost unlimited. Just keep tabs on them, from time to time, to make sure everything is operating properly.

Okay, I’ve thrown a lot at you for 1 day & like I mentioned above, I’ll keep you in the loop with any updates or findings that I feel will benefit you & your Blog…I’m always looking out for ya.

Oh my gosh, where would we be without our WordPress Plugins?

    Very helpful. Steven! Thank you for posting it. I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the plug-ins, but am thrilled they are there! They have definitely improved my blog over time and I did not know they could conflict – I better keep an eye on that. Thanks again!

      Thanks for helping me start off my week on the right foot, it’s always a pleasure. :)

      I’m happy that you took away a useful tidbit today. It’s the best practice to center ourselves in the ‘middle of the road’, so as to not overwhelm with TOO MUCH energy coming at us head on.

    Candy store is the perfect description! :) I love browsing plugins and seeing what else I can do with my WordPress sites. And the ones you’ve listed here are four of my favorites.

      Thanks for cruisin’ in today, it’s so nice to see you again. :)

      The candy store analogy can be used in almost any scenario. Okay, I consider my Blog as a ‘candy store’ & I have to keep my readers/visitors/friends smiling from ear to ear by supplying the purest form of value that I possibly can.

      It’s always COOL to check out new things & as far as plugins, there’s never a shortage of COOL. lol
